The EIB is the bank of the European Union countries. It operates in the 27 EU Member
States and in more than 130 other countries. Since 2007, the EIB has signed loans
totalling EUR 21.1bn with countries outside the EU. It is the largest supranational
borrower and lender in the world. This INFO special edition seeks to illustrate some of
the EIB’s activities in the different regions of the world.
